The Conference of Great Lakes & St. Lawrence Governors and Premieres is non-partisan partnership of the Governors of the eight Great Lakes States: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The Conference facilitates discussion and policy on water and environmental issues between the Governors and the Premiers of Ontario and Quebec.
Recognizing the economic strength of the region, the Council launched its unique trade arm in 1990 with the Canadian office as a pilot. The Council has successfully replicated its unique shared office model in six other countries around the world.
